Can Joy, “Vibes,” and Free Abortion Earn Harris the White House?

First impressions speak volumes.

Sometimes, these initial notions are misleading; other times, they are right on the money.

Take the Democratic National Convention. As you approach the massive Chicago McCormick Place center, you’ll first be greeted with a medical van offering free abortions and vasectomies. Then there are the people marching out front dressed in costume as abortion pills. There certainly seems to be a specific “vibe” there. Sort of a death/depopulation thing, I guess.

Then, inside the grand lobby, a giant inflated IUD – like one of those “tube man” inflatables at the local car dealership (but less fun). You may also happen upon the “Gender Neutral Prayer Room.”

And they call us weird.

At this writing, the convention has only just begun. So, we’ll see.

The week-long Dem-fest promises to be a star-studded lead-up to Kamala’s official nomination; however, there’s still much to learn. She hasn’t done any significant interviews or press conferences, so she is taking a “less is more” strategy, which seems to serve her best.

Meanwhile, no topic was off limits recently when multi-billionaire Elon Musk invited President Trump to have a sit-down phone conversation on X, and the world took notice.

First, there was a massive “distributed denial of service” attack against the servers. I have a lot of questions. But, simply put, it shut things down temporarily. Musk explained that it “Illustrates that there is a lot of opposition to people even hearing what President Trump has to say.”

Despite the panicked attempt to stop it, Musk and Trump chatted amicably about the economy, the border, the assassination attempt, rockets, and technology. And no one could censor it. Musk claims the talk garnered about a billion views (counting plays and multiplied shares). Yes – that was a “b” – billion.1  God bless America!

It temporarily stole a little thunder from the reinvention of Harris that had fawning left-leaning media in the throes of breathless elation after Biden’s ouster.

Joy!

Vibes!

Can we…not?

Speaking for our family, we’ve seen our utility bill increase by an average of $100 per month, and our gas and grocery bills have ballooned even more. Harris/Bidenflation costs American families roughly $15,133 per year.2  So, excuse me if their “vibes” don’t impress and certainly don’t pay the bills.

Once the thrill wears off, we hope Americans will take a closer look at the facts of the issues that matter most.

Inflation, Prices, and the US Economy

This is the top issue in this election, according to polling data.

Harris promises to attack inflation on day one.

Come again?

Day one? Wasn’t that January 20, 2021? So, why hasn’t Harris acted on it – why not do it now?

In a rare offer of details, Harris revealed her “plan.” She’s going to begin government-controlled food prices. And any grocery stores that don’t comply will be in trouble! Having been tried in communist regimes like the USSR, Venezuela, and even by Nixon in the US, the track record for this strategy is abysmal – complete and total failure.3 Think food shortages and more inflation.

She also promised to give first-time homebuyers $25,000 towards their down payment. Who is paying for that one? Could it be you and I, the American taxpayers?

Hearing these economically ignorant ideas is unsettling. Feels a little like trusting the arsonist to put out the fire, don’t you think?

On the other hand, Trump has a winning strategy he promises to repeat. We all remember fondly that gas prices were low and that we were energy-independent. He promises that we will be again – and that we’ll move into energy dominance.

During the Trump years, inflation was never a topic of discussion because it was so low – and according to Whitehouse.gov archives, unemployment was at a record low. Middle-class incomes grew by nearly $6,000, and “incomes rose in every single metro area in the United States for the first time in nearly three decades.” He made a lot of big promises in the 2016 campaign, and we saw most of them come to fruition.

So, how is anyone putting confidence in Harris? Is it the laugh? Is it the joy? It certainly isn’t her past performance with the economy. Harris/Biden claimed record-breaking employment figures; however, this week, it was announced that their positive numbers must be adjusted dramatically downward, from 800,000 to a million.4 It was some PR shell game to fabricate good news for hurting families, with compliant media to bolster the claims.

I plan to cast my vote for a rebound of American prosperity. How about you?

Border Security

It’s open, yes?

Despite years of the Harris/Biden administration’s claims to the contrary. Fifteen million plus have flooded our nation, unvetted. Daily reports of vicious and deadly crimes against our citizens shock us, and Harris promises more of the same.

The election season tactic is to shift blame to Republicans for not supporting the bad bill they cleverly called the “Secure the Border Act.” It provided for around a million or more per year to enter, and they called that “securing” the border. It’s like the “Inflation Reduction Act” (wink, wink), a plan that increased inflation, but I digress.

She just promises to close the Immigrant Detention Centers (where criminals are housed) on day one. According to data published by TRAC Immigration, of the 37,004 housed in these centers, 41% have criminal records.5 So, Harris’s strategy for the border is to release these into communities nationwide.

Then there’s Trump’s accomplishments. A “big, beautiful” border wall was well underway, a policy called “Remain in Mexico” stopped migrants outside of our country, and his administration saw the numbers of illegal border crossings plunge until Harris Biden stopped wall construction and invited the invasion.

He promises to finish the wall, resecure the American border, and begin deporting criminals and others who entered unlawfully. No double-speak. Just solid policy.

Women’s Rights

It seems safe to say, given the optics of the convention – that the crux of women’s rights for Harris and her crew is primarily about aborting children.

Clearly, abortion is central to her platform, and she’d like this bloody practice to be available at any point in pregnancy – even the day the little one is due to be born. At that point, you know it’s a partial birth abortion where the baby must be killed as it is coming through the birth canal. It’s brutal and tragic – and their calling card, hence the death van in front of the DNC this week.

Trump believes that abortion is an issue that belongs in the states, and the Supreme Court agreed. All the blather and hoopla about abortions being unavailable is simply untrue – but helpful in getting outraged abortion proponents to the polls.

The other women’s issue in the news is about biological men playing women’s sports. For anyone bullish on men boxing women, as we recently saw at the Paris Olympics, Harris is the one to vote for. She supports the decimation of women’s sports, as evidenced by what her administration has attempted with Title IX. Thankfully, the Supreme Court voted, blocking (for now) a significant portion of their effort.

Trump promises to curb the outrageous practice of allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports. If you have daughters in sports, this is a crucial topic at the ballot box.

Constitutional Personal Freedom

The pandemic was a wake-up call as we witnessed the lengths the government would go to shut down freedoms in America, given the chance. State and national officials called for only businesses deemed necessary to continue operations. Those essential services included liquor stores, strip clubs, and marijuana dispensaries. Those deemed non-essential were churches, schools, gyms, and scores of small businesses. It was government overreach, and Harris-Biden showed they favored these aggressive and long-lasting lockdowns.

Governor Walz, Harris’ running mate, showed his unwillingness to consider safety and security for the people of his own state. During Covid’s governmental power grab, Walz jailed those who violated his strict and far-reaching lockdown rules, including a mother of eight and grandmother of 18, Lisa Hanson – who complied with the closure for a time but eventually opened up hoping to salvage what was left of her business when Walz refused to reopen Minnesota. She was fined and sentenced to three months in jail and eventually lost her Interchange Wine and Coffee Bistro permanently.

As Minneapolis came under siege after George Floyd’s death, the mayor asked Governor Walz for reinforcements to get the burning, looting, and destruction under control. These were not granted for several days, and in the end, 1500 businesses were destroyed in that city. Then, after his late response to the crisis, Walz went to another extreme, ordering police to shoot paintballs at Minneapolis residents who dared be on their porches after curfew.6 This is the vice-presidential candidate with Harris. His wife even spoke of leaving the windows open during the riots so she could smell the burning tires. Again, we’re weird?

He and Harris also support a mandatory gun buyback program. “Buyback” is an attempt at a positive spin on the fact that they intend, if possible, to take your guns.

Harris has expressed a desire to end private health insurance, so if she gets her way, you will no longer be able to enjoy the health plan you now have and will be subject to whatever socialized scheme she comes up with to cover you and the millions of illegal immigrants now on the government dole.

They may be riding high on the good vibes, but what about our freedoms?

Trump’s approach is more straightforward. He is pro-second amendment, believes the lockdowns were too much and too long, and has stated that he wouldn’t force vaccines on people. As a businessman, the former president has shown himself to be a shrewd strategist who knows how to adjust to win. Given his track record of promises made and kept, it’s easy to believe that what he has learned from our past crises will inform his actions in a second term.

As we prepare to vote, mamas, beyond the presidential race, we must also remember the many consequential contests down the ballot. Everyone elected impacts our future, whether on the city, state, or national level. For this week’s podcast, we interviewed a visionary candidate running for the Illinois State Representative position in District 51, Tosi Ufodike. She wants to oust the Democratic incumbent and take her stand for working families. As a wife, mother, business owner, and community champion, Tosi has a vision to give voice to everyday Americans who have been abandoned in the Democratic bulldozer of big government and diminished freedoms.

Clearly, a vote for Harris/Walz, in a weird way – is a vote for “vibes” rather than the quality of life for Americans. We hope that once the smoke has cleared and the glittery confetti swept from the convention center, Americans will begin to see through the façade. Regardless of the good feelings stirred by the convention, Harris/Walz promise poor economic strategy and more monetary woes for Americans. Their open border policy will give us increasing crime in our cities and suburbs, illegal competition in the job market, and a less secure, disarmed future for your family.

Doesn’t sound like joy to me.
