JD Vance speaks at ‘Moms for America’ town hall in Pennsylvania

Oct 16, 2024

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The 2024 Election campaign trail continues to go through Pennsylvania as Republican Vice Presidential nominee, JD Vance, spoke at a town hall spotlighting Moms for America in Montgomery County.

Moms for America is a self-proclaimed national movement of moms focused on truth, family freedom and the Constitution.

The event began at 6 p.m. with multiple speakers slated to appear before Vance took the stage.

Vance spoke about his earlier thoughts on Trump in 2016 and how his opinions have since changed.

“They all said Donald Trump is going to start World War III, and yet, we had more peace around the globe than we had in a generation in this country,” Vance said.

He also touched on immigration and violent crime.

Locking up violent criminals is one of the core functions of government.”

Another important issue for Americans? The economy, which Vance talked about following a question from one mother.

“The best thing we can do to lower prices is to elect Donald J. Trump as the President of the United States,” Vance said.

Other issues Vance discussed included education and transgender policies.

“I think we have to ask ourselves, who’s getting rich from what we’re pushing down the throats of parents and children? And the answer is, there is a billion-dollar industry in cross-sex hormones, in gender transition and I think we have to go to the heart of the money and stop telling these pharmaceutical companies that they can make money by experimenting off of our children. It has to stop and will stop when Donald Trump is president,” Vance said.

“We don’t even realize how much of our tax dollars, how much of the money in this room, goes into funding very radical curriculum. And we ask, how did the schools get away from teaching, reading, writing and arithmetic and towards more crazy stuff we’re seeing the schools teach? And the answer is, often, we’re paying for it. What President Trump and I will do will be to make sure our tax dollars go to educating our children and not indoctrinating them.”
