Text – H.R.350 – 117th Congress (2021-2022): Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021 | | Library of Congress

First and foremost, it must be clearly stated that H.R. 350 is unconstitutional. Congress has no authority to pass a law that violates the United States Constitution without an amendment to the Constitution. Article 1, Section 8, gives no authority to Congress to pass such a law. In addition, H.R. 350 is a direct assault on the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.

Here are a few of major concerns with this bill:

  1. Democrat Party leadership and various members of Congress have used tied the H.R. 350 directly to the Capitol breach on January 6, 2021 calling it “Domestic Terrorism“. The media reporting of that day have been demonstrably false. As the actual facts come out that is being proven, yet everyone who was even at the Capitol that day is being labeled a Domestic Terrorist. Add to that the fact that ANTIFA and BLM rioters are not subjected to that label, and it is clear this is a politically driven bill to silence anyone who disagrees with the radical ideology of the Communist/Socialist elitists. Reading statements from members of Congress who support it is evidence of this. Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act (DTPA) of 2021 Introduced in House | Congressman Brad Schneider
  2. It is unnecessary. There is absolutely no justifiable reason to create a new law when there are already laws in place to deal with criminal behavior.  If justice would simply be allowed to lawfully take its course under the current laws of the land, justice would be served–not based on politics, but based on the actual crime committed.
  3. H.R. 350 is a clear diversion from the central focus of the true work of the Congress.  It is divisive, destructive, and harmful to the lives and freedoms of American citizens.

Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act: Democrat Proposal Shields Jihadists | National Review

“The Democrats’ new proposal, however, would target domestic terrorism in an unprecedented way…As federal law has recognized for decades, all terrorism in our country poses a threat. None of it should be exempted, and all of it should be aggressively investigated and prosecuted, consistent with the constitutional principle of equal protection under the law. The Democrats’ proposal is not about countering terrorism; it is about weaving a political narrative.”

The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity : Would You Be Considered A Domestic Terrorist Under This New Bill?

“The DTPA is essentially the criminalization of speech, expression, and thought. It takes cancel culture a step further and all but outlaws unpopular opinions. This act will empower intelligence, law enforcement, and even military wings of the American ruling class to crack down on individuals adhering to certain belief systems and ideologies.”

Heritage: Designating ANTIFA as domestic terror organization

Attorney General William Barr issued a statement Sunday on “riots and domestic terrorism.” In it, he states, “The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly.”

H.R. 350 is a knee-jerk reaction to the protests at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. As information continues to come forward about what actually happened that day, we are seeing the truth reveal something very different than what has been thrust on us from the media. As one of the organizations involved in the planning of the events surrounding January 6th, we were there, eye witnesses to everything. Which is why we are not at all surprised by the new information coming out makes it clear that a very small group of people organized the breach of the capitol and most of those who were there were peaceably assembling. However, in the “never let a good crisis go to waste”  strategy, Communist Elitists are using January 6th as a means to silence and control the American people. There is an article n the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity that poses a very interesting question, “Would you be considered a domestic terrorist under this new bill?”  The answer is very likely “yes.”

The consequences of this bill, intended or not, threaten our very existence as a free people. DTPA undermines our constitutional freedoms by allowing anyone who might disagree with you  (e.g . Abortion, or Taxes, or LGBTQ) to notify the Government, have you surveilled as a domestic terrorist, and perhaps jailed and punished.  DTPA has the ability to curtail or limit our freedom of speech and freedom of religion, as protected by the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
