Kids 8: Activity Day Outline DETAILED OUTLINE: The agenda of activities can be rearranged to best meet the needs of your group. If you have enough children of various ages and parent participation, you can divide the children into two groups for some of the activities and even have two activities taking place at the same time. We do, however, encourage the opening/closing to be done with all the children together. Opening: Opening Prayer Pledge of Allegiance You can have one of the children hold a small flag or use a larger flag. This is a great opportunity to teach the children respect and proper care and folding of the flag. See the Activity Day Resource pdf for a diagram on the proper way to fold the flag. If you use an actual pole and stand for the flag you can keep it up throughout the Activity Day. Preamble: have the children read or recite the preamble to the United States Constitution. (Doing this each day as a family will have your children memorizing it in no time at all. See the Activity Day Resource pdf) Activity & Discussion: Music Videos Gather the children/youth and play the following music videos. Ask them how they feel after each video. You can have them just listen to the music and tell you how it makes them feel and then watch the videos to see if it makes them feel the same or different to see the video.
