Information on historical documents, games about the branches of government, and more!  Purchase music about the constitution and events surrounding its creation from BadWolfPress.com and listen to/learn the music with your kids. Click here: https://www.badwolfpress.com/us-constitution- musical-play The music comes from an educational musical play called “U.S. Constitution: The Reality Show.” The play has some good content at an age appropriate level for younger kids but also portrays the founding fathers in a humorous light that could be understood as irreverent and disrespectful. However, the music is very fun and doesn’t have the same (potentially) problematic tone as the dialogue. A performance of the play is currently on YouTube under the title Revivor: Philadelphia Click here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ query=revivor+philadelphia (the name of the play has since been changed by the publishing company) if you’d like to review the play and the music.  Matching game with Constitution related images. Find the printable pages in the Activity Day Resource pdf. Suggestions for Older Kids or Youth:  Play games at https://texaslre.org/games/ and https://www.icivics.org/games.  Listen to the 60 second podcasts about the participants of the Constitutional Convention at this link: https://www.civiced.org/framers and then have a competition to see who can remember the most names/facts about the convention attendees.  Choose your favorite founding father, then write an essay about why they are your favorite. At the end of the essay describe how you can follow in their footsteps by being a leader and doing your part to heal America.  Review the Bill of Rights. Identify one or more rights that you treasure above the rest. Using an art form (music, paint, sketch, dance, metal/wood working etc.) create something that celebrates that right and your love for freedom.  James Madison said, “Happily for America, happily we trust for the whole human race, they \[the leaders of the revolution\] pursued a new and more noble course. They accomplished a revolution which has no parallel in the annals of human society: They reared the fabrics of governments which have no model on the face of the globe. They formed the design of a great confederacy, which it is incumbent on their successors to improve and perpetuate.” In what ways has the evolution of our government gone against Madison’s Kids 10: The Wheat and the Chaff Ideas to Incorporate: During the month or on Activity Day based on age and interest Moms for America ✯ Cottage Kids 3
