Kids12: Raising a New Generation of Patriots Ideas to Incorporate: During the month or on Activity Day based on age and interest Ask each member of your family to create a drawing or written response (up to a full page in total) to these two prompts: 1. I love America because: _____________. 2. I want to protect and preserve America by _______.* Make a patriotic star wreath. Cut out the center of a paper plate, leaving just a white ring. Cut out star shapes from red and blue paper and glue them to the paper plate. To hang the wreath, make a loop with some ribbon and attach it to the back of the wreath on the top. Make a replica of the Liberty Bell. Wrap a paper or plastic cup in foil, then attach an empty toilet paper roll to the top of the cup using either glue, a pipe cleaner (this will require holes in the toilet paper roll and the bottom of the cup) and write “Liberty” across the toilet paper roll.
