Kids 12: Activity Day Outline DETAILED OUTLINE: The agenda of activities can be rearranged to best meet the needs of your group. If you have enough children of various ages and parent participation, you can divide the children into two groups for some of the activities and even have two activities taking place at the same time. We do, however, encourage the opening/closing to be done with all the children together. Opening:  Opening Prayer  Pledge of Allegiance You can have one of the children hold a small flag or use a larger flag. This is a great opportunity to teach the children respect and proper care and folding of the flag. See the Activity Day Resource pdf for a diagram on the proper way to fold the flag. If you use an actual pole and stand for the flag you can keep it up throughout the Activity Day.  Preamble: have the children read or recite the preamble to the United States Constitution. (Doing this each day as a family will have your children memorizing it in no time at all. See the Activity Day Resource pdf) Song: Sing “God Bless America” together Festival: I’m PROUD to be an AMERICAN: Various activity options Activities for the festival can be flexible based on the season and your group’s preferences. Here are some ideas:  Play baseball  Hula hoop or jump rope competition  Hold 3 legged and potato sack races  Have hotdogs/hamburgers and apple pie with ice cream  Have fruit skewers with a mix of blueberries, strawberries and white mini marshmallows  Have coloring pages and watercolor paper plates in the pattern of the flag, link here: https://makeandtakes.com/watercolor-flags-for-4th-of-july  Bobbing for apples  Have a talent show  Play the Patriot Name Game. Instructions and names provided in the Activity Day Resource pdf. 4 Cottage Kids ✯ Moms for America
