Branson, MO – Today, Moms for America® applauds that the White House took decisive and necessary action by removing Susan Monarez as Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This move reflects a critical turning point in safeguarding scientific integrity and advancing a pro-health agenda.
Under her brief leadership, only a month in, Director Monarez clashed with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s leadership to reshape vaccine policy. She allegedly resisted policy reversals that she believed “contradicted scientific evidence” and potentially violated legal standards.
Moms for America supports the firing not as a blunt political maneuver but as an affirmation of public trust. We recognize that the CDC leadership must align with President Trump’s “Making America Healthy Again” agenda and as a Senate confirmation, only the President has the constitutional authority to issue such a dismissal, which was legally invoked. We need leadership at the CDC that respects the agency’s mission, remains accountable to the public, and upholds data-driven policy over partisan or ideologically motivated interference.
Moms for America urges the restoration of transparency in CDC processes, full oversight by the Senate HELP Committee in light of the agency’s sharp new direction, and a renewed commitment to an evidence-based public health strategy that protects children and families, rebuilds trust in preventive measures, and resists politicization.
Our message is clear: public health must be led by trusted, accountable figures committed to data, safety, and the well-being of all Americans, not ideology or misinformation.
