Buffalo Diocese Office lends support to Moms for America #MomTalkNY event

Apr 15, 2019

Cheryl Calire

BUFFALO, NY–There are so many amazing individuals who helped make our #MomTalkNY event in Buffalo a tremendous success–so many who gave of their time and their talent to help us bring this life-changing “cultural conversation” to a reality.

We would like to especially recognize the efforts of Cheryl Calire, director of the Office of Pro-Life Activities for the Diocese of Buffalo. Her belief in the importance of this pro-life event and her fearless commitment to saving babies and promoting life in New York state is truly to be commended!

Cheryl has been in her position with the Diocese of Buffalo for the past nine years. She oversees the St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center behind the cathedral with four additional locations in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties, that she co-founded as a volunteer in 2009. She also heads up the Project Rachel ministry, and the Hope and Healing retreat with clergy of the diocese. The Sidewalk Advocates for Life in Western New York was one of the first under her direction and she has spoken on the National Level for them at the annual Women’s Pro Life Convention.

Cheryl does not just talk the talk, she and her husband walk the walk in supporting mothers and babies in the Buffalo area. Her latest endeavor is the Mother Teresa Home, which serves moms and families involved in unplanned and unsupported pregnancy . She and her husband David of 25 years moved in to the empty rectory in the inner city of Buffalo to help oversee renovations in May of 2015, and have been blessed by an outpouring of support for the Mother Teresa Home. The ministry opened in 2016, and since that time has served 23 mothers and babies to date.

If you are in the Buffalo area and are interested in becoming involved in the thriving pro-life movement, please contact the Diocesan Office of Pro-Life Activities at 716.847.2205.

Thank you to Cheryl, and to the Diocese of Buffalo, for your support for our #MomTalkNY event!
