National Moms Group Demands Action on Border as Title 42 Expires

“Now that the band aid is off the bleeding will only intensify.”

Branson, MO – May 12, 2023 – In response to the expiration of Title 42 today, Kimberly Fletcher, President and CEO of Moms for America®, issued the following statement:

“The border crisis was already out of control, and with the expiration of Title 42 it’s going to get much worse. Every town is a border town, and the crime and drugs that come hand in hand with open borders will only increase unless action is taken as soon as possible.

“I’ve visited the southern border, and what I saw there was deeply troubling. Securing the border isn’t just about keeping American neighborhoods safe from fentanyl and cartel violence – it’s about protecting the thousands of women and girls who are subjected to sexual violence and rape on the harrowing illegal trek.

“The truth is, Title 42 was a small band aid on a big wound, and now that the band aid is off the bleeding will only intensify. But unfortunately, our current government has failed to take any meaningful action to secure our border. That must stop. The representatives of the people must act.

“Moms For America is asking state lawmakers across the country to recognize this ongoing invasion of our southern border, declare a state of emergency, define Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations, seize cartel bank accounts and assets whenever possible, and establish Border Defense Agencies to protect Americans everywhere.”
