WASHINGTON, D.C. — On May 19, 2025, Debbie Kraulidis, Vice President of Moms for America, was among the distinguished guests at a historic Rose Garden ceremony at the White House, where President Donald J. Trump signed the Take It Down Act into law. This landmark legislation, strongly supported by Moms for America, represents a significant step forward in protecting children and families from online exploitation.

“The Take It Down Act is a victory for every mother and family fighting to keep our children safe in the digital world,” said Kraulidis. “As moms, we know the dangers of unchecked technology, and this law ensures that ethical responsibility keeps pace with innovation. We are proud to stand with President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and bipartisan leaders to protect our kids.”

The Take It Down Act criminalizes the non-consensual publication of intimate images, including AI-generated deepfakes, and mandates their removal within 48 hours of discovery. Carefully crafted to balance First Amendment protections with the need to combat online abuse, the legislation was introduced by Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support in a 409-2 vote.

First Lady Melania Trump, a vocal advocate for the measure, emphasized its importance during the ceremony, stating, “This is a national victory that will help parents and families protect children from online exploitation.” President Trump praised the First Lady’s leadership, noting, “Working with our First Lady, we’ve shown that bipartisanship is possible.”

Moms for America has long championed policies that safeguard children and uphold family values in the digital age. The organization’s support for the Take It Down Act aligns with its mission to empower mothers to advocate for a safe and thriving future for their families.

“We thank President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and the bipartisan coalition in Congress for prioritizing the safety of our children,” Kraulidis added. “This law sends a powerful message: our kids are worth protecting, and we will not let technology outpace us.”
