6 Media Lies Debunked – Know The Truth About Riots, ICE, and the “Maryland Dad”
Live not by lies.
It’s a simple message filled with wisdom – made famous by Russian author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.1 He wrote of Communism’s atrocities in the Soviet Union and the brutal fate of millions who suffered and died in Soviet Gulags. Lies, secrecy, reporting on neighbors, and propaganda were central to that culture – and sadly, we face similar passive acceptance of dishonesty seeping into our society.
It’s sadly become widely accepted to lie, mislead, and tell half-truths on the internet, social media – and especially in the fourth estate – journalism.
Even after the election crushed the shaky credibility of traditional media in America – they seem to have learned nothing. They continue to call riots peaceful as buildings burn and police are attacked with Molotov cocktails and cement blocks.
We have eyes.
The mainstream media makes wild claims dealing with just about anything they disagree with (especially Trump-related) to push forth an alternative reality. Thankfully, most of us aren’t buying it anymore.
As the “Maryland Dad” returns to America, we’re learning how bad an hombre he is. Meanwhile, the much-feared tariffs didn’t take down our economy, though the left-leaning press preached doom. The economy has rallied, and reasonable trade deals are on the table for the first time in many decades. It’s tempting to believe the opposite of whatever The New York Times or MSNBC spouts. That’s why this week, we’re looking at some of the latest leftist lies in the news – debunking them with facts. Have you heard these six whoppers?
Media Lie #1
“After a Maryland father was mistakenly deported, his community prepares for the worst.” CNN 2
Don’t worry, CNN, you’re not alone. Leftist politicians, media pundits, and “journalists” all chose this hill to die on. What a poor guy, just a Maryland dad, wrongly swept up by Trump’s evil minions. “Bring him back home to America!” they cried.
The left hardly had time to celebrate the return of their Salvadorian hero figure before a grand jury found that gangbanger, Kilmar Albrego Garcia smuggled people and drugs for 9 years or so. He is accused of brutally abusing women, and trafficking them, along with children, in the US. A co-conspirator claims that he solicited pornographic photos and videos of a minor – and was part of a murder. Incidentally, that killing was of a rival gang member’s mother – and is the reason he supposedly couldn’t be deported back to his home country.
Just your average Maryland father…
The truth may be a tough pill to swallow for Democrats who lionized this dangerous illegal alien as the poster child of mistreated migrants. Their entire campaign was based on a mountain of lies and an appalling lack of research by so-called reporters.

“‘Lies’: Fox News paints L.A. as a war zone while protests remain largely peaceful” MSNBC 3
Calling out rival Fox News was an interesting touch, MSNBC. I couldn’t suppress a chuckle. That whole “largely peaceful” claim cracks me up. How many videos did you see of violence? A ton, right? Yet, they go with the “largely peaceful” thing. Classic.
The riots and their coverage provided plenty of low-hanging fruit for satirists at The Babylon Bee, with one of their headlines reading, “Trump Responds to Mostly Peaceful Protests, With Mostly Peaceful Military.”4 I feel like they are making it too easy for the Bee, and if you haven’t checked out The Babylon Bee yet, do it. And you’re welcome.
Floundering networks like MSNBC and a cadre of Dems (Hillary Clinton, LA “Mayor” Karen Bass, and Governor Newsom, to name a few) blame President Trump, claiming that the violence only began when he sent the National Guard against the wishes of California’s Governor.
It’s not true; however, that’s never really been the point. The problem is our screen-addled minds can sometimes fall prey to reading something and thinking it’s true. The facts debunk this claim. Of course, Trump didn’t send the National Guard to break up peaceful protests. Here’s the factual timeline:
Friday, June 6, ICE carried out planned arrests of several dozen criminal illegal aliens. Many were guilty of crimes like homicide, rape, child abuse, human and drug smuggling. Protesters gathered and began throwing things as others vandalized a federal building, and the violence escalated. Los Angeles police indicated that they needed help early that evening.
Saturday, June 7, violence grew as protesters began setting cars on fire and throwing concrete projectiles and other weaponized objects at police officers. Continued vandalism and mayhem expanded, and the Governor refused to act, so President Trump invoked Title 10 of the US code and called in California National Guard members and a contingent of US Marines, signaling that rioting in the streets of America would not be the way forward in this new era.
Sunday, June 8, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell gave a briefing describing the conditions where the riots continued. “We are overwhelmed as far as the number of people engaging in this type of activity and the types of things that they’re doing. They’ll take backpacks filled with cinder blocks and hammers, break the blocks, and pass the pieces to throw at officers and cars and even at other people. We’ve seen people with hammers breaking the bollards behind the federal building, using concrete fragments as projectiles. We’ve had unknown liquids – who knows what – thrown at officers. There’s no limit to what they’re doing to our officers.”5 It’s just another one of those “mostly peaceful” protests that leave cities burning and small businesses in shambles.
Beyond assaulting law enforcement and causing injuries, some of the violent were charged with attempted murder after attacking with Molotov cocktails. The “peace” continued with protesters looting and destroying local businesses – exhibiting their commitment to “protect” their neighborhoods since their hearts are simply dedicated to the cause of their poor, misunderstood undocumented neighbors (she wrote sarcastically).
Media Lie #3
“We begged President Trump to send in the National Guard. He would not do it.” Nancy Pelosi reimagines Jan 6 in a video posted by CBS News 6
Wowza. Do you think she knows she’s just flat-out lying? I mean, she seems pretty lucid, but she crafted this fantastical story where Trump denied sending the National Guard when they “begged” for help on January 6th. Then, with feigned outrage, she claims that this week he sent the National Guard to attack “peaceful” California demonstrations.
The problem is that it’s been documented that the President offered the National Guard to Pelosi before January 6, anticipating it would be an extraordinarily large gathering. She refused. It’s not an opinion. It’s been confirmed. Meanwhile, California has been dealing with growing violence as the attention-seeking Governor refused to effectively address it.
Ms. Pelosi, we saw the violence on the streets of your home state – and the videos documenting your failings on January 6th.
Media Lie #4
About ICE raids: “This reminds me historically of … when these political factions divided the nation between slaveholders and slave catchers…” Dr. Eddie Glaude, Princeton University Professor, MSNBC 7
Where to begin. The truth about ICE agents is that they are brave and noble professionals with an important – and dangerous job because of Biden’s four-year open border policy. Americans voted and still largely support the idea that mass deportation is needed.
There are too many stories in our nation now, like that of Jimmy Friesenhahn, a Marine veteran father of a five-month-old daughter, who was shot last month and is paralyzed. He was working security at a sports bar when he was shot three times by an illegal migrant who had previously been arrested and released four times.
ICE agents are helping make America safe again, taking on the monumental task of rooting out criminals who need to go home. The leftist media is hell-bent on protecting every dangerous lawbreaker, regardless of if they are predators, murderers, rapists or drug dealers. Their primary focus seems to be on derailing anything attempted by President Trump. You know, the orange man, bad thing.
The quote cited here is astounding. Slavery was an atrocity. Slaves were forcibly brought here – and detained, used, and abused. It was the darkest of times in America. This is not that. Not by a long shot, and though Dr. Glaude admitted it wasn’t an apples-to-apples comparison, it is outrageous. African Americans who have ancestors who suffered the horrors of slavery should be deeply offended by MSNBC and Glaude’s narrative.

“Trump’s tariff plan would raise inflation and cost U.S. jobs, economist Mark Zandi says” PBS News 8
Only, it hasn’t.
Even the most Trump-hating news outlets, such as CNN and The New York Times, had to admit that the inflation numbers are better, edging up only slightly and significantly, beating dire predictions. Meanwhile, gas prices are falling, as are prices for other goods and services.
It’s hard to see how these tariffs would result in a net loss of jobs. An estimated $5 trillion in new business is coming to America due to Trump’s deal-making with corporations. Hyundai expects to create 100,000 jobs, with 60,000 to be produced by Boeing and GE Aerospace. As industry returns to the US, hundreds of thousands more are in the works.
The tariff thing may seem like a gamble to some. Still, the negotiations are beginning to bear fruit as the world’s nations come to the table thanks to Trump’s strategy.
Media Lie #6
“The Trump administration’s claims about missing migrant children are false.” The Washington Post 9
It’s pretty much a given that anything you read from these traditional media sources is going to be, at best, severely tainted by their personal disdain for Donald Trump. This one was pretty crazy, though.
In their sanctimonious claim that Trump was inaccurate about missing children who he supposed may have suffered at the hands of traffickers or other villains, they don’t deny that some kids are missing. They just try to spin it as not so bad. Yikes!
Trump has suggested numbers like 300,000 lost.
What if it was only 200,000?
What if the number was even more exaggerated and, in fact, there are only 100,000 missing, many trafficked in the US?
Is that good? Does it feed psychological hunger for better news?
It reminds me of the inane “fact check” by Martha Raddatz on ABC News, who “corrected” Vice President JD Vance by stating that “only a handful” of apartment complexes in Colorado had been violently taken over by Venezuelan gangs. Vance answered by incredulously asking, “Do you hear yourself? Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem?” That clip went viral and illustrated the media’s main objective – to create and propagate an anti-Trump spin on every story possible.
Back to the missing children. What if there are only 100,000 lost? Little ones, brought into our nation illegally, trafficked as sex slaves, or for labor – or for organ harvesting. Never seeing their homes or parents ever again. It’s heartbreaking – and outrageous that so many in the media have gone to such pains to downplay this human tragedy.
I’ve ranted a bit, admittedly. Do you blame me? We can only hope that our nation can turn back from this appetite for lies and spin. As moms, we must be vigilant and root out the deception through thoughtful consideration and research, rejecting narratives and propaganda in favor of truth.
As we Make America Great Again – we must stand firm and “live not by lies.”
Podcast Note: On this week’s podcast, we enjoyed a conversation about an exciting new project from a true hero in the fight against human trafficking, Tim Ballard, Sound of Freedom. Also, we caught up with John Ferguson, an aerospace and robotic expert who shared an interesting take on the New Jersey drones.
