The Growing Republican Tent: Will Facts Move Voters to the Right?
Facts.
According to the sticker on Ben Shapiro’s laptop (seen in many of his videos), “Facts don’t care about your feelings.”
It seems to be one of his go-to lines, and Ben, we agree.
People are weary after several years of full-on rebellion against simple facts by the cultural and political left. They are tired of being told how to feel, how to speak – and what to believe.
Does that mean that our side is guiltless? No one is. However, our progressive brethren would have to admit that pushing to reconfigure natural, biological, historical, and logical facts has become their specialty. Maybe they wouldn’t admit it, but come on…
- Men can have babies.
- The border is closed.
- There are countless genders.
- Religion is bad.
- Families are a construct of patriarchal oppression.
- Covid vaccines are safe and effective.
Need I go on?
These are just a few of the greatest hits popularized during the last few years. All are false, but we are told we must comply with these non-scientific, unsupported assertions – or else!
What would happen if facts suddenly came into vogue once again. It seems unlikely on the one hand – but when you think about it, as people tire of the woke religion, they have to go somewhere. Facts don’t care about your point of view, political party, religion – and yes, Ben, your feelings. They simply are – and they provide the safety of a solid floor to stand on.
This election year is the perfect time to push back on the nonsense, moving toward steadier ground. The facts are on our side, so could they aid in enlarging the Republican tent and bring a Trump victory?
Facts Over Feelings
Statements like those above are founded on a shifting, squishy foundation of feelings. Take the lies about the border. There are all sorts of shenanigans there – from the free flow since Harris and Biden took office to her laughable appointment to address the problem. She did such a dismal job, accomplishing nothing, that mainstream media is in full spin mode, trying to make us believe she never was the border czar. The problem with that, though is the fact that – We. Were. There.
Then there’s the latest spin that the Dems proposed a border “solution.” In reality, their poorly conceived legislation (thankfully shot down by wise legislators who saw through it) would’ve solidified the intake of around a million through those portals each year. The reason they can lie straight-faced to the American people is that they feel it would be good to have open borders. They claim they feel for those seeking asylum. Our guess is they also feel the need for more votes.
Forget the facts. Lean into feelings.
Another winner is their claim that men can be women. Because they feel like women. The man parts and chromosomes will always factually contradict those feelings, but feelings must be paramount to justify the lunacy. Gender ideology marches on; however, the thrill is all but gone from the pronoun craze, and many who transitioned now face devastating regret after being swept away by gender celebrations from their “feeling” friends.
Just last week, in Paris, the planners of the Olympic games produced a profoundly insulting and disrespectful portrayal of The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci, using drag queens in place of Jesus and the apostles. The backlash was fast and loud – so the organizers sort of apologized (not really), claiming the parody was intended to celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and “French gastronomy.”
But then, there are those pesky facts again. They could have easily done a tasteless drag show without targeting God. Can they genuinely claim to be highlighting inclusivity when they aim a disgusting and hate-filled depiction directly at 2.9 billion Christians for no good reason? Facts are facts.
Facts, Feelings, and Politics
Feeling-obsessed critics have gained ground in our politics as well. Some feel President Trump’s “mean tweets” make him just too much of a bully to be voted for. Meanwhile, they convince themselves to “feel” good about Kamala Harris, regardless of what she will do as President because she is a woman “of color” – when what we really need is a woman (or man) “of skill.” Fact.
An increasing number of voters who dare look beyond the Trump Derangement Syndrome Media to learn the facts about the former President’s previous performance are surprised. The facts suggest that far from the “feelings” portrayed about Trump, his policies did increase prosperity, freedom, and safety in our nation for four years. He was a friend to black communities and colleges with policies that lowered unemployment and strategies to help the inner cities. For those of us who practice faith in America, he had our backs. You may not like his style, but facts tell the real story.
Meanwhile, facts regarding the Biden/Harris administration are also needed. They saw rampant crime in America’s cities (even though some of our largest blue cities no longer report their crime for national statistics), and prices soared for everything from butter and eggs to housing due to Bidenomics. Their open-border plan drew more than 15 million illegals into our cities and a flood of fentanyl that has brought death to more than a quarter of a million Americans. It simply doesn’t matter how you feel about Biden or Harris. Americans have all paid a price during the last four years.
Now a candidate for President, Harris blatantly snubbed Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his recent speech before Congress. She had another pressing engagement. At a time when Israel, our only ally in the Middle East, is at war, and Netanyahu traveled all the way to the US, Harris had to attend a sorority event. Yes. A sorority event. Sometimes, facts are inexcusable. And, as she sets a tone of antisemitism for her candidacy, she wants to lead our country for the next four years?
Facts and Spin
Bit by bit, Americans seem to be waking up. They are being drawn to facts once more. This bodes well for the Republican Party. Thanks to President Trump’s performance from 2017-2020, the Grand Old Party can unapologetically stand on facts.
Feelings are not needed when it comes to lowering inflation, closing the border, reigning in crime, and negotiating ends to the wars that now rage under the Biden/Harris watch. Search engines and traditional media will spin these facts to appear more favorable – or maybe not report some stories, while pushing others per the DNC.
Just last week, Dan Bongino (and other media outlets) pointed out that a Google search of “Assassination Attempt” did NOT bring up the Trump shooting among the results. If you entered “Assassination Attempt,” the search result that came up was “Assassination Attempt Truman,” followed by Reagan, Fidel Castro, and Hitler. I know because I immediately tried it out.
Given their track record, Google officials made excuses and some rather unbelievable claims. Even reporters from Australia’s Sky News reported the story and tested it – additionally trying the search with Chat GPT, which reported that there were no credible reports of an attempt on President Trump’s life.1 Big tech appears to have an agenda, but they got caught. And they know it.
This scandal is no surprise to me. My weekly research for this blog requires search inquiry acrobats to find almost anything that reflects a neutral or right-leaning news source or opinion. That’s a fact.
Are Facts in Fashion?
While the mainstream press is fading and losing audience share, alternative media and markets are rising. They are gaining viewers and listeners as audiences are more disillusioned with “fake news,” (President Trump’s pet name for the mainstream media).
As traditional media fades, alternative web-based news sources and networks are gaining steam, giving a more non-corporate-controlled view. It’s refreshing both in the reporting and the liberty to chase a story and report unbridled by network bosses. It’s David vs. Goliath – or the Rebellion vs. the Evil Empire. And the American public gets front-row seats for the showdown.
Blaze Network, Daily Wire, and Tucker Carlson Network are among the top producers of new fact-based content and commentary on politics and culture. Others, like X and Rumble, are doing their part by providing free speech platforms.
We caught up with Tom Sodeika to hear about his ambitious endeavor, Freedom Square, a pro-America business network giving retailers, media, medical, and more a chance to reach other liberty-loving citizens in a marketplace where customers can know their dollars are not supporting destructive causes. The Facts We Know
We wanted to take a moment to look at some of the critical issues in this election – using facts.
We created a chart for a simple side-by-side look at the candidates. This time, we have the rare benefit of knowing both from their terms in office rather than just taking in their promises on the campaign trail. Each item below represents something Harris or Trump said, promised, or did in office.
Mama’s, it’s time to vote based on facts over feelings.
Our feelings won’t save America from what a Harris administration would bring. The facts might.
At this point, the facts are on the side of the Republican ticket, and more and more Americans are getting wiser. The trend must grow, and if the facts have anything to say about it – we’d better make room for more voters from all sectors and welcome them to the GOP tent – so we can link arms to Make America Great Again!
